Update.
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved father Eugene, fondly known as “Bong.” After a courageous battle with lung cancer, he passed away peacefully on April 8, 2025, at Kuakini Hospital.
Bong was deeply loved and will be missed beyond words. His strength, warmth, and humor touched everyone who knew him.
A wake will be held on April 28, 2025, and the funeral service will take place on April 29, 2025, at Valley of the Temples in Kaneohe, Hawaii.
We invite family and friends to join us in honoring and remembering his life.
Rest in love, Bong.
With heavy hearts yet steadfast faith, we share that our beloved father, Eugene Calma, Jr., who has courageously overcome multiple strokes since 2017, has now been diagnosed with stage 4 advanced lung cancer. As he undergoes intense chemotherapy, we cling to the hope that God’s healing hands will give him the strength to keep fighting.
Through every hardship, our mother has been his rock, selflessly dedicating herself to his care. But the road has been incredibly difficult. Limited transportation makes it challenging for her to take him to his medical appointments, and the growing weight of medical expenses has become overwhelming. Though we, her children, long to be by her side, many of us live out of state, making it even harder for her to carry this burden alone.
In this season of trial, we turn to the power of faith and the kindness of our loved ones. If you feel called to help—through a donation, sharing our message, or lifting our family in your prayers—we would be forever grateful. Your support, in any form, brings comfort and light to this difficult journey, reminding us that we are not alone.
From the depths of our hearts, we thank you for your generosity, prayers, and love. May God bless you abundantly for your kindness.
