It’s a historic moment for a permanent establishment of Ethiopic Studies, at the University of Toronto
This initiative is a rare opportunity and of historical significance in the discovery of Ethiopia’s ancient civilizations, for the preservation of our rich culture, history, and traditions. The benefits are enormous, not only for the community but also for the society at large. Much has to be taught and learned about our ancestors who have made magnificent contributions that have shaped the very identity of modern civilizations as we know it today.
The University of Toronto's administration has been very generous and supportive in nurturing this gem of a program. As a testament to their commitment, the University of Toronto has now presented us with a unique opportunity. If we raise $75,000 towards the Ethiopic Studies Endowment, the University of Toronto will match it dollar-to-dollar. This means, if we raise $75,000, the endowment for Ethiopic Studies will increase by $150,000. However, the deadline that has been offered to us to meet our obligation ends by the end of February 2020.
The endowment at present stands at $300,000 this will bring the total to $450,000. When we raise $500,000 Ethiopic Studies at the U of T will be permanent. When it’s all done, Ethiopic Studies program will be the first of its kind in North America. We need your help to make it happen.
We are so grateful for your present and past support. But we cannot miss this amazing opportunity.
Please give generously, so we can meet our deadline.
