Hello,
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my mother's story. My mom, Ernestina Cerda, is 76 years old and was unexpectedly sent to the ER after a routine check-up. Initially, they didn’t explain why, but we soon learned that the doctors suspected leukemia. After being transferred to a hospital with the right resources, it was confirmed that she has Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). This all started on January 10th, and she has now completed her first round of chemotherapy. She has been in the hospital for over a month and is expected to return home in a few days.
We are preparing for her transition back home, making sure everything is ready to make her stay as comfortable as possible between treatments. There are a few essential items we need, such as a comfortable chair for her room, a wedge for her bed to help her sit up, a shower chair, and some other small things. As a single mom managing a household, I’m finding it tough to cover all of these expenses, so I’m reaching out to ask for help.
Please only contribute if you’re able to, and if you can’t, sharing this with others would mean a lot to us. If a financial contribution isn’t possible, positive thoughts and well-wishes for her are more than enough. My mom is an incredible woman—she’s been the heart and soul of our family, a role model for the women who’ve had the privilege to grow up around her, and a cheerleader for the men in our family.
Thank you again for taking the time to read this, and I truly appreciate any help or prayers you can offer. We love her dearly
