<div>My name is Jackie Flint Wilson, and I’m a twenty-one-year resident of Alfred Station and a dear friend of Erin “Air” Law and Roberto “Beto” Che Espinoza in the Village of Alfred. One of our shared missions is building a community where no one faces hardship alone. I’m organizing this fundraiser with Air and Beto’s full knowledge and consent, and every dollar raised will go directly to their care and stability.

<div><strong>Erin’s Story</strong>

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Our friend Erin Law needs our help.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div><strong>Erin, a resident of the historic Hull House in the Village of Alfred, is facing a serious medical challenge.</strong> They are preparing to undergo extensive surgery for advanced endometriosis, a chronic condition that causes severe pain and requires a complex and costly operation.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div><strong>Seven Years of Pain, Survival, and Self-Advocacy</strong>

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div><strong>Erin has lived with endometriosis for over seven years</strong>—nearly all of them in silence. As a somatic movement leader and dance instructor, they’re deeply in tune with the body. But that insight has also meant they’ve spent years pushing through pain few could see or understand.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div><strong>In 2018, Erin endured three ruptured ovarian cysts, lost 25 pounds due to nutrient malabsorption. </strong> All while continuing long hours as a massage therapist, teaching, and performing —quietly surviving, quietly suffering.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div><strong>In 2022, they underwent a complete hysterectomy, including the removal of both ovaries, fallopian tubes, cervix, and right round ligament.</strong> During surgery, doctors discovered Erin’s vagina had adhered to their rectum, and endometriosis was widespread, affecting multiple pelvic and abdominal organs. Just five weeks later, they needed bladder surgery to address additional complications.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div><strong>Then in 2023, while attending a faith conference in Atlanta, Erin was rushed to the ER at Emory Hospital, where they had their appendix removed</strong>. The pathology confirmed that endometriosis was present on the appendix—a detail Erin only discovered after personally reading through their medical report. Their care provider has been excellent, but navigating complex, systemic conditions still requires Erin to act as their own advocate at every turn.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Now in 2025, Erin’s care team is preparing them for another complex and highly specialized operation. <strong>They may need their gallbladder removed and a colon resection, depending on how far the endometriosis has spread.</strong> This surgery will require Robotic-Assisted Technology, which provides 3D visualization and superior precision—crucial for treating deep endometrial invasion. It’s a vast improvement over standard laparoscopy, and it gives Erin their best shot at true, lasting relief.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div><strong>Following surgery, Erin will need a substantial amount of time to rest and recover</strong>—and during this period, both Erin and their partner Beto will face serious financial strain.  Unfortunately, due to Erin’s illness they have had to decline a one semester full-time contract at the local University.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div><strong>Beto is a trans refugee and a powerful advocate for care and justice in our region.</strong> Together, he and Erin have created a sanctuary of social healing in Hull House, where they continue to rebuild their lives with resilience, love, and purpose.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>This fundraiser will help cover:

</div>

<ul>

<li>Surgical and post-operative medical expenses

</li>

<li>Medications and recovery supplies

</li>

<li>Travel and lodging for out-of-town treatment

</li>

<li>Rent, food, and essential bills while Erin recovers

</li>

<li>Support for Beto as he provides care

</li>

</ul>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Erin is a quiet force of wisdom, tenderness, and care. While they’re not someone who seeks the spotlight, they are someone who deserves our full-hearted support in this difficult time.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div><strong>Why this matters: the real impact of endometriosis</strong>

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Endometriosis isn’t just painful—it’s often life-altering:

</div>

<ul>

<li>A major study of people with severe endometriosis (stage IV) found an average pain score of 8.5 out of 10 before surgery—so intense that daily life and work become nearly impossible.

</li>

<li>After radical surgery—including laparoscopic removal of endometriosis lesions—pain dropped dramatically to 1.4 out of 10 at 6‑month follow‑up.

</li>

<li>Quality of life improvements were significant across all areas: pain, emotional well‑being, daily functioning, intimacy, and social life.

</li>

</ul>

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div><strong>What this tells us is clear: endometriosis can be devastating, robbing people of their ability to work, connect, and care for themselves or others.</strong> But there’s real, evidence‑based hope. With skilled surgical treatment, many experience profound relief and reclaim their lives.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div><strong>For Erin, this operation is more than medical—it’s a pathway back to safety, dignity, and daily strength.</strong> Let’s help clear her path to healing. Let’s make sure Erin and Beto don’t have to face this alone.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div><strong>Please give what you can, share with your circles, and help us create a community cushion so Erin can focus on healing, not hustling.</strong>

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>With love and gratitude,

</div>
