Support Erin Strait's Family Medical Care

Hi, friends and family. I’ve started a Go Fund Me account for my sister Erin, a single mother who lives in Minneapolis with her nine-year-old twins. On November 30, Erin called her pediatrician with concerns for her child.  They made an appointment for a few days later, but Erin had a gut feeling to ask to speak to a nurse. They were then directed to go immediately to Urgent Care, and from there to Children's ER, where they spent the next three days in the hospital. The doctors diagnosed a lifelong condition.

This is a challenging development at any time, but especially so this year. Erin was hopeful her child would be accepted into a clinical trial at the University of Minnesota for newly diagnosed children with their characteristics. This would have covered medical costs for a year and provided cutting-edge guidance for treating the disease. However, due to COVID, they’re not accepting patients at this time. 

In the spirit of mutual aid, I ask that you consider making a donation to this account to offset medical and other day-to-day costs they’re dealing with. Under the advisement of the child's doctor, my sister will take leave from work through the end of the year, and she'll likely work a reduced schedule into 2021. At this time, monthly income and treatment costs are unknown, so anything would be incredibly meaningful.
