Introduction:

Hello, my name is Maureen, and I’m starting this fundraiser on behalf of Erika Rinehart, my daughter. Erika has recently been diagnosed with Follicular Lymphoma, a blood cancer, and while she’s fighting this battle with incredible strength and courage, the financial burden is becoming overwhelming.

Erika is a dedicated wife, mother, sister, and daughter. While in the final four weeks of training to compete in her 9th bodybuilding competition, her world was turned upside down when she received the devastating diagnosis of Follicular Lymphoma on June 27, 2024. Her whole life came to a halt. She had to withdraw from the competition to focus on her healing while also navigating how to share the news with her family, especially her two children.

Since then, she has been undergoing intense treatments, including a biopsy, PET & CT scans, port placement, and multiple rounds of chemotherapy, with many more rounds to come. While she remains strong, these treatments have taken a toll on her health, energy, and financial stability.

The Need:

As you can imagine, the cost of cancer treatment is staggering. Between hospital bills and medications, the expenses are piling up. Beyond the financial burden, her diagnosis and treatment have greatly impacted her ability to manage her household and keep up with her children. Erika’s husband, Ed, has done an amazing job stepping up in her place, but because of the increasing bills, he’s had to pick up overtime and is not home as often to help with household management. Our goal is to raise $10,000 to help cover medical costs and ease the burden on Erika and her family during this incredibly difficult time.
