<div>This year, just a week after her birthday on December 6, Elizabeth and her family received the devastating news that she has stage 2 rectal cancer. She is set to begin her first day of treatment on December 31, with the journey expected to last at least six months. The costs of treatment, medical bills, and the uncertainty of what lies ahead have placed a heavy burden on the Hanley family. Elizabeth is still able to work from home for now, but the future is uncertain, and they are preparing for the possibility of added financial strain—including taking on a new credit card, which means interest on top of already mounting bills.
