<div>I had my first excision in October 2021, just five months after a previous ablation in May 2021. Despite the relief those surgeries brought, my symptoms have returned and worsened. After my recent consult at Mass General OBGYN in Boston, my surgeon unexpectedly moved me up from an expected December date to surgery next week. <strong>While I am grateful not to wait longer in pain, the sudden timeline has left me financially unprepared.</strong>

<div>My expected out-of-pocket cost is $5,000, not including recovery expenses like transportation, medications, or time off from work. To make things harder, this expense comes right after being suddenly laid off from my healthcare job, a loss that was both devastating and destabilizing. My family is doing its best, but we are struggling to make ends meet, especially after I had to join my spouse Dom’s insurance plan.
