What’s the 411?

It was April 11th (4.11) of 2020, a day that was supposed to be an explosive, spectacular, “storybook affair” occasion. We invested months of team meetings planning a Film Premiere that would showcase the 2 years of our time and over 120 talent that we worked with from the Philadelphia Region and Tri-State Area. Our plans included: a red carpet walk with press and photo opts, an elegant cocktail reception, and two screenings of our “Sound Mind” Cinematic Spoken Word Mixtape, that consisted of 12 short films along with an exhibition of artifacts that were used to create the films. This was to open to a crowd of 700 cast, crew, close friends, family members, associates, supporters, and industry professionals to enjoy.  Surely a celebration of a lifetime! The only thing is, IT NEVER HAPPENED. As with the rest of the world, we were met with the unforeseeable pandemic. Like many other events, celebrations, and business operations,  we were forced to completely shut down and table our first-ever dream “Premiere Experience'' to some uncertain time in the near future.

What Do We Do Now?

The only thing that our company, Eli Lu Entertainment, has a reputation for doing when we are faced with any challenge, is moving forward as creatively, productively, and innovatively as we possibly can. We created a virtual event!

Why Your Support Matters

We are offering the “Sound Mind” Premiere free of charge to the public because we believe in the importance of showcasing our art and hard work for over two years. We owe it to ourselves and our 120+ talent and crew members and their supporters. However, this decision, like many of our other projects we had planned for 2020, will not make a profit as originally planned, nor recoup any funds put towards the creation of this project.

The past few years our company has grown to be a creative outlet for individuals in film and theater, providing opportunities for talent and crew members, all while building an inclusive film community in Philadelphia. We created the Philadelphia Film Factory (Philm Factory) Initiative dedicated to helping the Independent film community gain experience, exposure, and obtain various opportunities through film programs, events, and competitions. We seek to cultivate, educate, and empower a film community of like-minded individuals from above and below-the-line talent and crew. We kicked off February 2020 with 7 packed workshops for filmmakers and actors (until the Pandemic occurred.)

Your donations will help us accomplish the following:

* Purchase Film Equipment
* Continue to Produce Film projects
* Host Workshops and bring in industry professionals
* Hire personnel and production crews for projects and film events
* Assist, grow, and support the Philadelphia Independent Film Community
* Enable actors to gain experience and exposure (children & adults alike!)
* Host Film Competitions

We hope to reach our Goal by Dec. 8th 2020. (Note: We are not a non-profit organization)

We’re So Grateful For Your Support

We are so thankful for those who have supported us in the past and recognize the hard work we put into not only this Sound Mind Project but all of our Projects.  We are proud to be an anchor in the Philadelphia Community for the youth and the community at large that are looking for a filmmaking cohort in our area. Letting others know about us, about our events, projects, talent, and this Premiere.

Your support will make a difference in the world. We will continue to produce quality film projects and bring jobs to Philadelphia for the film community.  We thank you in advance.
