<div>On August 18th, my husband Edwin was at the Home Depot in Inglewood waiting for a job when he was kidnapped by immigration agents. When I received the call saying my husband had been detained, I was devastated. My world and my family's world crumbled. Not only were we separated from my husband and the father of my child, but they also took away the main provider for our household. I am a domestic worker, as is my daughter, and it has been so difficult for us to find a stable job, not only because of the current situation in this country, but also because we both care for my 19-year-old son, who is unable to care for himself and requires 24-hour care. Since my husband's detention, our financial situation has worsened, and this also impacts the support we can offer him to help him get released, as he has been at the Adelanto Detention Center since August. Due to the large number of people who have unfortunately been detained, we haven't been able to obtain pro-bono legal representation for my husband. <strong>That's why I am using this platform to ask for your support to cover the costs of a private attorney.</strong> His next court hearing is on November 25th, and <strong>I'm terrified that we won't be able to get help and prevent his deportation.</strong> Thank you from the bottom of my heart for any support you can offer to my family.

Yo soy trabajadora del hogar, al igual que mi hija, y para nosotras ha sido tan difícil encontrar un trabajo estable, no solo por la situación que actualmente estamos viviendo en este país, pero porque ambas nos encargamos también de mi hijo de 19 años, quien no puede valerse por sí mismo y requiere estar con alguien las 24 horas del día. Desde la detención de mi esposo, nuestra situación financiera empeoró, y eso impacta también el apoyo que podemos ofrecerle para que él pueda salir en libertad, ya que desde agosto él se encuentra en el centro de detención de Adelanto.
