<div>Just a few months ago, we arrived in Manitoba, Canada, with our two young daughters, full of hope for a new beginning as a family.

<div>In November, Edgar noticed a lesion on his tongue. After several medical tests, in January we received life-changing news: he was diagnosed with stage 3 tongue and neck cancer.

</div>

<div>On January 27, he underwent major surgery to remove the tumor and affected lymph nodes. Shortly after, in February, he suffered a stroke that affected the right peripheral vision in both of his eyes.

</div>

<div>Today, Edgar is undergoing 30 radiation treatments while continuing his studies, as his immigration process depends on maintaining his student status. I have been by his side every step of the way, caring for him and our daughters during this incredibly difficult time.

</div>

<div>Since his diagnosis, neither of us has been able to work, and we have now exhausted our savings to cover rent, food, medications not covered by insurance, and other treatment-related expenses.

</div>

<div>We are raising $20,000 to help support our family while Edgar continues his treatment and recovery.

<div>Hace apenas unos meses llegamos a Manitoba, Canadá, junto a nuestras dos hijas, llenos de esperanza por un nuevo comienzo como familia.

<div>En noviembre, Edgar notó una lesión en su lengua. Después de varios exámenes, en enero recibió un diagnóstico que cambió nuestras vidas: cáncer de lengua y cuello en etapa 3.

<div>El 27 de enero fue sometido a una cirugía mayor para remover el tumor y los ganglios afectados. Poco después, en febrero, sufrió un derrame cerebral que le afectó la visión periférica derecha en ambos ojos.

<div>Actualmente, Edgar está recibiendo 30 sesiones de radioterapia mientras continúa sus estudios, ya que su proceso migratorio depende de mantener su estatus como estudiante. Yo he estado a su lado en cada paso, cuidándolo a él y a nuestras hijas en este momento tan difícil.

<div>Desde su diagnóstico, ninguno de los dos hemos podido trabajar y hemos agotado nuestros ahorros para cubrir renta, alimentación, medicamentos no cubiertos por el seguro y otros gastos del tratamiento.
