<div>These two people are my very best friends in the world, Eddie and Wendy Ercanbrack. Two wonderful human beings who have always been generous to a fault.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>They recently experienced a catastrophic life event after Eddie went in for ordinary lower back surgery back in June.</strong> Post-surgery, Eddie ended up with a dural rupture and cerebrospinal (CSF) leak, which was further complicated with hospital-acquired bacteria meningitis (i.e., a “superbug” resistant to antibiotics). The virus made the fluid build up in his brain, requiring a permanent shunt. Eddie is not able to care for himself at this time and remains in the hospital as they try to reestablish some of his cognitive abilities. He will also require physical therapy.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As a result, Eddie can no longer work. His short-term leave has expired and Wendy is trying to acquire Power of Attorney to sign for his long-term disability (Eddie was deemed not competent enough to sign at this time).
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Wendy is doing all this while trying to work full time. And her job just isn’t able to cover the bills. Eddie was the primary breadwinner and without that, they are now in dire straits. <strong>Wendy is no longer able to cover rent, and without help, she and their daughter Ayla may have to find temporary housing while Eddie remains hospitalized.</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The two of them have always been gracious, loving, and giving friends and members of the community. Now it’s time to be charitable in return.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Please consider helping my best friend so she can be there for Eddie as he recovers without worrying about where she and Ayla will live next month.
