We rescued Ebbie in 2015 when he was a year old... or should I say he rescued us. He was in a bad situation, and we gave him a good home.

He lost his eye in 2020 due to cancer and survived without chemo. In 2024, he had thyroid cancer and needed chemo, which he did well and graduated last September.

He was diagnosed with brain cancer in August of this year, and the neurologist said that radiation would be the only way to shrink the tumor. Radiation costs $12,000 - $14,000 per session, and he would need 3 sessions. We have pet insurance; however, they won't cover the costs since we have reached our deductible. Plus, we chose not to do radiation after reading the long list of side effects. We just don't want to put him through that.

A friend told us to contact Dr. Jody Oelschlager at the Veterinary Alternative Therapy clinic, so we did. She said that she would be able to help control him with holistic treatments and supplements, acupuncture, as well as orthopedic treatment. These treatments can cost around $8,000 or so, and we want to give Ebbie the best treatment that we can. We can't do just nothing :-(

We spent so much on Ebbie's surgery in 2020, as well as surgery and chemo last year. Oliver also had to have surgery, so that was more expense, which were all out of pocket. I really don't want to ask for help, but this is for Ebbie, and I have put my pride aside to help him. As some of our friends already know, we went through a major hardship in May for a large sum of money, and we are working with the FBI, but this will take time that we might not have. Anyone that knows me well knows that I don't ask for help. Ebbie is our baby, and we want to do what we can to make things comfortable for him for as long as he is here with us.

We know a couple of people who did these treatments for their dogs, and it helped and gave them more time.

He is currently on Keppra for seizures, Prednisone for swelling, and Gabapentin for pain as needed, and he has been stable. We take him everywhere with us so he is not home alone.
