Earl Rush is in the fight of his life. A stroke has paralyzed the left side of his body, and he has spent the last couple weeks in the hospital receiving round-the-clock care. The road ahead will require strength, time, rehabilitation, and the support of the very community he has spent his life building. 
 
 
 For more than 50 years, Earl Rush has been a cornerstone of the DC salsa and Latin dance community. To many, he's the face behind StuckOnSalsa.com. To others, he's the storyteller who could captivate a room, the friend who never met a stranger, the person who connected dancers, promoted countless events, and helped build a community that has changed thousands of lives. 
 
 
 Behind Earl's smile is a story many don't know. He lost both of his parents at a young age. Instead of letting that define him, he built a family through music, friendship, and dance. For decades, every social, festival, club night, and dance floor became an opportunity to bring people together. Many of us met lifelong friends, dance partners, spouses, and chosen family because Earl believed in connecting people. 
 
 
 This is our moment to return even a fraction of what he has given to us.
