For years, we’ve had the honor of serving passengers in the skies, ensuring safety, offering comfort, and creating positive experiences at 30,000 feet. As Detroit-based flight attendants for Spirit Airlines, our careers weren’t just jobs, they were our passion, our stability, and our way of connecting with the world. Now, overnight, everything has changed. With the sudden shutdown of operations, many of us based in Detroit (DTW) are facing unexpected unemployment, loss of income, and uncertainty about what comes next. Behind every uniform is a real person: a mother, a partner, a friend trying to navigate rent, bills, healthcare, and the emotional toll of losing a career we deeply loved. We are resilient, and we are already taking steps forward by applying to new airlines, picking up temporary work, and supporting each other through this transition. But in the meantime, we need help bridging the gap. How Your Support Helps: * Cover essential living expenses (rent, utilities, groceries) * Maintain healthcare and medications * Fund job transition costs (applications, training, relocation if needed) * Provide emergency relief for those hit hardest No donation is too small. Even sharing this fundraiser makes a meaningful impact. This isn’t just about financial support, it’s about standing behind a community of aviation professionals who have dedicated their lives to serving others. Now, we’re asking for a little help during one of the most difficult moments in our careers. From all of us in the DTW base thank you for your kindness, your generosity, and your belief in us. We can’t wait to be back in the skies doing what we love. With gratitude, Detroit-Based Spirit Flight Attendants
