<div><span>Dot is my soul dog. She is an 11 year old lab mix. On Christmas Eve, I discovered what I thought was an infection in Dot’s mouth. I took her to the vet ASAP. The vet immediately told me it was tumor, not an infection. The tumor was removed that day and sent off for testing. On January 13th, after several tests, Dot was diagnosed with malignant oral melanoma. On January 22nd, Dot had surgery to remove the cancer and part of her jaw &amp; lymph node. She also received 4 rounds of the Oncept Melanoma Vaccine.</span><br />

<div>She recovered really well from the surgery &amp; we thought she was on the right track to being cancer free.

<div>As of June 23rd, it seems that Dot’s cancer has  come back in her lymph node area. I’m so devastated.. Dot is in good spirits and seems up for the continued fight.

<div>She was scheduled for surgery July 2nd to remove the new lump. But the surgeon was worried about the size &amp; location making it too risky to remove at this time. They decided to start her on the Gilvetmab treatment &amp; go from there. She will need 4-9 more Gilvetmab treatments. The hope is these treatments will make it possible to safely remove the lump.
