<div>Recently, Don experienced a sudden drop in blood pressure that caused him to fall — not once, but three times. One of those falls resulted in a traumatic and complex neck injury: a comminuted burst fracture of his C7 vertebra, a fracture of the right C7 articular pillar, torn ligaments in his neck, and a bulging disc at C6-C7.

<div>A burst fracture is a serious spinal injury where a vertebra is shattered into multiple pieces — often due to high impact trauma. It can be extremely dangerous, leading to instability of the spine, nerve damage, and lifelong limitations without immediate medical intervention.

<div>Don, who is 70 years old and medically retired, in undergoing emergency spinal surgery to stabilize his neck and prevent further complications. His recovery will be long and difficult. Doctors estimate 6 to 12 months of rehabilitation, including physical therapy and nursing care. During this time, Don will have limited mobility, lifting restrictions, and will need support for even simple daily tasks.
