<div>November 4, 2022, at the age of 24, Dillan was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer. He has always been so healthy so this come as a surprise to everyone.

<div>The day he was diagnosed, he applied for medicaid and was denied. The treatment he needed was a targeted therapy chemo pill but he had to have insurance in order to get it due to costs. Thankfully, he was awarded cancer state aid to help with the costs of this medicine but still no medicaid.

<div>After a little over a year of taking the pill, he stopped responding to it. We learned that his cancer had spread to his lymph nodes in his chest and he would need chemo and radiation for 6 weeks. Chemo 1x per week, radiation 5x per week until the last 2 weeks, they started doubling up his radiation every day. Thankfully he was able to receive chemo and radiation through his hospital with no problems regarding him not having medicaid. Although it was a rough 6 weeks, he made it through. This was from july- september of this year. Since finishing chemo and waiting to have a follow up scan, his doctor has applied for him to receive a second chemo pill with an 80% success rate.

<div>After his follow up scan at the end of october to see how he responded to the chemo and radiation, we were told that his cancer had spread to his neck and abdomen. We desperately need this pill but he can’t get it without insurance and his cancer state aid has also been taken away. This medicine is $20,000 a month.

<div>He has applied for medicaid multiple times throughout this journey and been denied. He hasn’t worked in over 2 years and he just wants some kind of help.
