Help with Diamond Poyer's Medical Journey

My name is Diamond Poyer. I am a 29 year old woman experiencing a medical crisis. Eight years ago I began having stroke and seizure episodes which require frequent ER visits and hospitalizations. In 2015 I was diagnosed with a chronic migraine disorder. In 2019 it was clarified that my chronic migraine attacks are hemiplegic migraines which mimics strokes and seizures. I have had to take multiple short term disabilities from multiple employers over the last eight years to recover from episodes which required physical therapy and other treatment. Multiple medication trials were attempted but failed to properly manage my conditions. In March 2020 I began experiencing new symptoms including chronic inflammation & swelling, numbness & tingling, trouble walking, violent muscle spasms, heat fatigue and passing out after exercising. The new symptoms encouraged new assessments which led to multiple specialists presenting different diagnoses and potential treatment options. An official diagnosis has not yet been reached which presents multiple challenges in the management of my health & daily functioning. 

In the past few months I’ve had two migrainous strokes which required ER visits and hospitalizations. I am still recovering from the most recent episode on November 15th, 2020 which was a (NDE) near death experience. Initially, I was experiencing spasms or trouble walking, once or twice a month, then weekly and now daily. I am now living with tremors, spasms and trouble walking on a daily basis. This is on top of the chronic migraine pain and attacks. In one day’s time I can go from walking on my own two feet to having an episode which leads me to depend on a walker and a shower chair to bathe. The mental adjustment flipping between walking and not walking multiple times in a day is traumatizing and unsettling. My mental health is directly impacted by this ordeal. I am chronically fatigued from the exhaustion of full body tremors, spasms and seizures. 

Due to the disabling and disruptive components of my medical condition I have been unable to work or manage my entrepreneurial endeavors. I have depleted my savings and I am without health insurance in the middle of this COVID-19 pandemic. While I have an active appeal to a recent Medicaid denial, Medicaid has limitations on the access to specialists and certain forms of treatment including out of state specialists who are subject matter experts in the presenting symptoms. To assertively address this matter I need to travel to medical specialists nationwide to continue quality evaluation and testing in hopes of reaching an official diagnosis to regain control of my life and management of my health & well-being. 

As a woman of service I am reaching out for support from others. While fighting these medical challenges over the past 8 years I led a strong career trajectory in child protection & permanency, workforce development, education and professional development training. In 2018 I launched a wellness brand to help others feed their craving for change through mindset and lifestyle transformation—Puzzle Peace Me, LLC. In response to the 2020 COVID-19 Pandemic I made plans to purchase an RV and take yoga and wellness experiences on the road to support the mental and emotional  well-being of communities and schools, but that too was disrupted. While pursuing my goals and striving to break generational curses to build generational wealth and promote new health & wellness lifestyles, I also managed a caregiving role for my mother who has been battling Multiple Sclerosis and has been wheelchair dependent for all of my life. I am now facing chronic medical complexities of my own. The progression and intensity of the daily symptoms have disrupted my entire world. While this battle is physically, mentally and financially draining I have built the spiritual fortitude to maintain a positive mindset as best as possible. I will Breathe Through The Battle.
