<div>Cycling has always been a sport dominated by wealth, exclusivity, and tradition. For decades, riders of color, women, and young people without financial backing were shut out before they ever had the chance to dream.

<div>I started the Detroit Mavericks to break that cycle.
</div>
<div>What began as three riders fighting for a place in a sport that never wanted to make room has now grown into one of the most diverse and fastest-rising cycling teams in the Midwest, with over 50 riders, a women’s program, and a development team filled with first-generation athletes discovering the sport for the very first time.

<div>But with growth comes real financial pressure. This fundraiser exists because we are entering a crucial moment: the upcoming race season, new riders who need bikes, rising travel costs, and a mission that cannot slow down. Most of our riders come from communities where buying a race bike—or even traveling to a race—is impossible. Without support, we cannot continue giving them the opportunity, equipment, and platform they deserve.
