On Friday, May 15, we lost our beautiful friend, Laura, following a tragic car accident. Laura sustained severe injuries and ultimately made the selfless decision to become an organ donor. Through her final act of kindness, she was able to give the gift of life to others. Her hero walk was a reflection of the incredible person she was: loving, strong, compassionate, and full of light.

Laura leaves behind her daughter, Desi, who meant absolutely everything to her. As Desi prepares for her senior year of high school, we want to come together as a community to help support her future. Donations from this GoFundMe will go toward living expenses, school needs, and helping Desi pursue college, something Laura would have wanted so deeply for her daughter.

Laura was one of the smartest and hardest working women you could know. She had just completed school to become an orthodontic assistant and was so proud of the future she was building. She had a love of learning, a beautiful soul, and a heart that touched so many people. Anyone who knew Laura knew how genuinely kind and caring she was. Many also know the deep bond Laura shared with her sister, Shannon, whom she lost a few years ago. They were more than sisters, they were best friends and soul sisters. Laura carried Shannon’s memory with her every day. While our hearts are broken, there is comfort in imagining them reunited again.

Please continue to keep Desi, Laura’s mother Mary and all who loved her in your thoughts during this incredibly difficult time. We ask that everyone give the family space to grieve and heal. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date when Nichole is able to attend. Nichole continues to fight through extensive injuries from the accident, and we ask that you keep her in your prayers as well.
