Hi, I'm Andrew Nicholls from andacod.com, a website dedicated to the conservation and promotion of Technologies education.

What's the issue?

Globally, the subject of Technologies in schools is in decline. The subject has less support and fewer teachers entering the discipline. With its roots in Industrial Arts, Engineering, and Design, the subject forms the basis of nearly every job in contemporary society that requires critical thinking and problem solving skills. It is also how best avenue for helping society reduce our dependence the over consumption of the world’s resources.

What are we aiming to achieve?

andacod.com wants to change the perception of Technologies education. From the way Technologies are taught, the skills and knowledge it promotes, to the infrastructure provided by private and government education, to the perception of the subject's content and purpose by students, parents and industry.

What will this achieve?

andacod.com is all about improving the opportunity for students to engage in Technologies education. We want to be the bridge between students and their springboard into their future career in design, whether that's a vocational job in building and construction, automotive and plumbing or further studies in engineering, architecture, product design or textiles. We know that for this to be a reality, we need to reeducate everyone about the 21st-century purpose, delivery and infrastructural needs that Technologies education requires.
