My sister Dedra is facing the fight of her life after being diagnosed with a Grade 4 glioblastoma in her right frontal lobe. In November, while we were out to lunch celebrating my birthday, Dedra had a tonic-clonic seizure. That terrifying moment led doctors to discover the brain tumor. Just six months earlier, in April 2025, Dedra had suddenly lost her husband of 26 years. Our family was already grieving, and then our world was turned upside down again. 
 
 
 If you know Dedra, you know she is bold, beautiful, strong, and unforgettable. She is a daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. To her two grandsons, she is simply DeeDee. She has always been someone I look up to, and even now, in the middle of treatments, scans, medications, doctor appointments, and so much uncertainty, she continues to fight with incredible strength. 
 
 
 Dedra is the Executive Director of a local nonprofit, but she has had to take medical leave from work. For a time, she even lost the ability to drive. Since her diagnosis, everyday life has changed in ways none of us could have imagined. The costs of insurance, medical expenses not covered by insurance, treatment-related needs, household bills, and day-to-day living expenses continue to add up, and this is an ongoing need in the months ahead. 
 
 
 Your support will help ease that financial pressure so Dedra can focus on her care and on getting through each day of this journey. Recurring donations would provide steady, predictable help with the continuing expenses she is facing, and one-time donations are deeply appreciated as well.
