<div>There is something unique about a small town  where you know every person in your school from kindergarten to graduation. Lowville Academy is such a school in the tight knit community where many of us still live and work. The class of 1982 has recently learned that one of our own is experiencing a medical crisis and it has really hit us to our core. Deb Halladay Nagy and husband John have endured prior hardships due to health issues. John, also a graduate of LACS, was forced to close his successful collision/body shop because of a heart ailment. It has been a huge hardship for their family. Deb has kept the family going with her hairdressing business, and in March was finally able to have time to enjoy their grandchildren. Unfortunately, this peace has been disrupted by yet another medical emergency. Deb has been diagnosed with multiple myeloma and has began navigating chemotherapy. She and John travel to Buffalo because  they specialize  in the treatment of Multiple Myeloma. It is a 5 hour trip one way. They need to stay near the hospital after treatment or procedures, before driving back home.  This places an extra burden on them, as John ( who is self-employed) is forced to take time from work to care for Deb during her treatment. This is a huge strain on their finances. Deb and John never asked for assistance during John’s medical ordeal and will not ask this time either, which is why I am creating this appeal. I’m calling on the class of 1982 and all  Lowvillians near and far to help Deb and John in this time of need. Any contribution will be appreciated to help with travel, treatment and loss of work expenses. If you are not able to donate, please, please, please share this story on social media, or by word of mouth. On behalf of the class of ‘82, thank you from the bottom of my heart!
