I’m a high school member of the Climate Leader Fellowship and my fall project is raising money to buy menstrual products for women and girls in need. All products will be donated to the DCDiaper Bank to fight period poverty. This struggle for women and girls in poverty to access menstrual hygiene products is often overlooked. For many, these products are a luxury they can’t afford. This issue impacts health, mental well-being, and dignity, as women are often forced to use unsafe substitutes, increasing their risk of infections.
