As many of you already know, our dear friend David Shawn Bozzler was in a serious car accident while on vacation, visiting family near San Diego. He suffered numerous and serious injuries, requiring several complicated surgeries. He is currently in the hospital and the good news is he is alive, more alert and talking each day. The bad news is his rehabilitation will likely be a long one, but we are all hoping for the best recovery possible.
He is surrounded by his immediate loved ones...wife Nada and kids, her parents and sister, and Shawn's parents and sister as well. He will be transferred to another hospital today and some friends nearby have asked about visiting in the future. Please look for updates here - or from the families directly - on when visiting is more feasible, as his condition improves. He still has some surgeries to undertake.
It was also suggested by friends to setup a GoFundMe account to help with what will surely be mounting costs for the months ahead while Shawn, Nada and kids work through this incredibly difficult time. There is no time table on when they'll make it back to home, work or school in Brooklyn, NY. These donations will help offset costs for housing, childcare, medical bills and other expenses.
