Hi everyone! I’m here hoping to help a fellow respected member of our small-town community. “Beef” Dave Miller suffered an injury at his place of employment back in August. He did PT (physical therapy) for about a month and a half. Workers' comp sent him for an MRI and found a torn ligament in his right shoulder/rotator cuff. His surgery is scheduled for November 5th, with an expected time to be off work without regular pay for 3-6 months, he will only receive workers comp pay; which surely is not enough to survive off of.
If you don’t know Dave “Beef,” you may have seen him in his fire gear, where he has dedicated 30 years with Stoverstown/North Codorus Twp, Jefferson for about 8 years, and Porters with a total of 10 years, I believe. He currently runs with all 3 technically, but he runs the most with North Codorus and Porters, volunteering his time to help our community. Whether it be a burning building or an accident, he’s there without a second thought. That’s heroic. He not only takes care of our community, he is also taking care of his elderly mother, being the sole caretaker and financial provider for both of them. I understand times are hard for everyone right now; money is tight. If you can donate, that would relieve such great stress and anxiety for him and his mother. If you can’t, that’s okay too! I’m even open to a meal train to help lighten the load. I would truly love to see us pull together as a community to help out and take care of one of our very own small-town heroes.
