Dave built his life with his hands in the Colorado mountains — painting homes in the summer, plowing roads in the winter, taking care of his community in South Park County the way he takes care of everyone he loves: quietly, reliably, without ever asking for anything back. He has been his own boss, his own crew, his own everything for years. That’s who Dave is. This spring, Dave was diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer. The cancer has spread to his lymph nodes and multiple sites in his bones. He has already been through an emergency hospitalization, radiation treatments, and is now beginning an aggressive course of chemotherapy at a leading Denver cancer center. His doctors are moving fast because Dave is young and strong and the cancer is treatable. He is in the fight of his life, and he is fighting.
