<div>Hello! My names Shelby, This past Saturday July 19th 2025 my parents Daniel and Michelle were involved in a very traumatic roll over accident while hanging out with family and friends. They had just got off the river in Loudenville and we're heading back to their camp ground with my Mom’s sister and her husband when they were t-boned by an oncoming van at approximately 50 miles an hour. Thankfully they were in a Jeep that has a roll cage, I believe if it was any other vehicle they may not have survived. My father Daniel has sustained severe traumatic injuries to his jaw, which was broken in 3 places. He also sustained major trauma to his neck including fractures of the Cervical spine at 5,6 and 7 along with complete dissection of his discs. My mother Michelle has 2 fractured ribs along with spinal fractures from T 1 thru T 5 essentially breaking her back. She also sustained blunt force injury to her right temple along with a large cut. My father has undergone surgery to repair the neck fractures and removal of the discs between C5/6 and C6/7 they placed spacers to replace the disc and put a cage around his spine to secure it along with a plate from C5 thru C7. In order to repair his jaw they placed plates and screws and wired his mouth shut for the next 6 weeks. He will undergo a second surgery in 6 weeks in order to remove those plates and screws. My mother was discharged yesterday and has been at dad’s side since. Dad’s surgery lasted over 6 hours preformed by 2 surgeons. Following surgery he remained in the critical care ICU for 3 days until Friday July 25th where he’s been moved into the step down ICU where they are trying to find better control for his pain so he will be in hospital at least a few more days. Fortunately my mother did not need surgery but has been fitted with a brace to secure her spine allowing it to heal along with a walker to keep her steady on her feet. It was an extremely scary thing receiving the phone call about them knowing their story.

<div>July 4th 1995 they were in another traumatic roller over accident in my mom's Ford ranger, they were on the way to my mom's bands gig. At the intersection of Grafton road and W. 130th they were struck from behind by their friend who was unfamiliar with the area this caused her truck to flip in mid air then roll on the ground a few times as well coming to a stop on all four wheels. My dad's arm fell out the window and was drug across the ground suffering multiple injuries which led him to surgery and skin graphs to fix the damage to his arm. My mother suffered from a minor TBI that was left untreated because it was missed and diagnosed many years later. This accident brought them closer and was the start of their story and eventually they got married and had their first child, my brother Buddha. These two accidents were 30 years and 14 days apart. This accident has also brought back those traumatic memories. The first was the beginning of their story, As one of their friends have stated, we are very thankful this one was not the end of their story. They will both be out of work for a while and with that we will find struggles with keeping up on our bills, food and other basic essentials because unfortunately we do not have rainy day funds. I'm asking that if anyone can donate no matter the amount to help them in this hard time it would be a blessing to them. Whether it's $5 or $50, everything will help support them in this time of need, we're asking for donations so we can still pay the bills including the mortgage, car payment and still buy our groceries and other necessities. Any money left over will be used towards the rest of the medical bills that may not be covered under insurance.

<div>Copays for therapy, etc. We're currently unsure how long each of them will be out of work. I will be helping take care of them both physically and mentally during this time. Thankfully we do have a huge support system with friends and family so getting too and from places for doctors appointments, grocery shopping and any other necessities we may need, it will be easier on all of us. We all appreciate the support and prayers and we are extremely grateful they are alive.
