 My mom, Dana Hein (formerly Dana Sidler, Dana Roberson), was diagnosed with vulvar cancer in June 2026. After receiving a PET scan, we learned that <strong>her cancer is localized to the pelvis and has only spread to one lymph node</strong>. The doctor seems confident this can be taken care of with surgery. She does not currently have insurance due to losing her full-time job last year, and she <strong>cannot afford to purchase it on her own</strong>. She has been denied twice for any assistance from Medicaid or financial assistance from the hospitals. The hospital gave her a quote of $11,400 for the surgery, and she needs to have 75% of that ($8,500) to schedule the surgery. She deals with excruciating pain on a daily basis due to the tumor, so we are hopeful to get this scheduled for her as soon as possible.

 I am setting a goal of $15,000 to cover the cost of the surgery. Any amount after $11,400 would be used to help my mom get to a place where she can afford a monthly payment for insurance.
