On Friday 8th of December 2017 Danny Burgess and Courtney Eden welcomed their baby girl, Bailey Burgess, into the world.
At only 27 weeks gestation Bailey was a tiny 2lb 7 1/2 oz (1.12kg) and 37cm long. Coming into this world 3 months premature Bailey was admitted to the neonatal unit and given the required support.
A total of 648km from their home in Cooktown Courtney and Danny are currently staying in Townsville while Bailey continues to be supported in the neonatal unit at Townsville hospital.
Every day is step in the right direction and Baby Bailey is as tough as both her parents put together (Which if you know both Danny and court, is bloody tough!)
While she is currently doing well, there is still a long haul ahead for both Bailey and her parents. Bailey is expected to stay in the neonatal unit, then the special care unit at Townsville hospital until her initial due date in early march, approximately 3 months in total.
This page has been set up to help relieve some of the pressure on Danny and Courtney.
As all of you would know staying away from home for even a short amount of time can cost a small fortune. Any donations big or small that you can spare will help to keep Danny and Courtney by Baileys side and help to support them all when they can finally take her home.
We also ask that you respect their privacy at this time and appreciate that they are focusing all their efforts in remaining strong, positive and supportive for Bailey.
