<div>Daimarys &amp; Daixon are Venezuelan asylum seekers with three young children, including a US citizen baby. <strong>On August 18th, Daixon was detained at an ICE check in in Portland.</strong> Daixon has no criminal history, has applied for asylum, and has complied with the requirements of the immigration process. Nevertheless, he was detained in a check in that he was told was just for the purpose of “verifying his information.” Most cruelly, he was denied access to his attorney, who was present on site and ready to assist him, but ICE did not allow him legal support before transporting him to the Northwest ICE Processing Center in Tacoma.

<div><strong>Daixon was the family’s primary breadwinner and leaves behind Daimarys, who has been a leader in her community since arriving in Portland, his two step-children, and the couple’s shared baby.</strong> All donations will go directly to Daimarys, who will use the funds both to support Daixon while he is detained, with phone calls and commissary, as well as to support herself and the children in meeting their basic needs during this difficult time.
