Two months ago, my dad was diagnosed with bladder cancer. After undergoing a biopsy and receiving less than satisfactory care at our local hospital, we decided that the best course of action was to pursue treatment at MD Anderson in Texas. After a week in the hospital, we discovered that the cancer is quite aggressive, which means he will need three months of chemotherapy and will require surgery to remove both his bladder and prostate. This surgery is quite complex and will involve his intestines, resulting in the possibility for two bags: one for the bladder and another for a colostomy. The chemotherapy he is undergoing is intense and carries risks for his heart and diabetic neuropathy. Each session of chemotherapy requires a three-night hospital stay for monitoring. My parents are facing financial challenges, and my mom is currently unable to work. They will be in Texas for at least six months as they go through treatment and recovery. We appreciate any prayers and positive thoughts. If anyone is in a position to offer financial support during this difficult time, it would mean so much to us!
