Food connects people. REAL food is the soul of life. Help me bring kitchen tools to the children of St. Croix to learn home cooking skills at Sejah Farm USVI!
St. Croix is my second home and on my annual visit to help with the children's culinary program for the Bush Cook Chef Cook event, I am bringing a full set of kitchen tools for the kids to work with at the kids culinary competition and for many cooking classes to come. Please help me sponsor the youth of St. Criox in learning to cook locally sourced farm foods!
The owners of Sejah Farm embody the definition of love and giving. I was blessed to meet Yvette and Dale Browne after the devastating effects of Hurricane Maria on St. Croix in 2017. They and other local farms had given everything they could to neighboring islands before the storm took away so much from them at their home and farm, but they did not miss a beat. They were back at it planting seeds, building community and changing the lives of the people around them by giving their hearts and full efforts to regrowing the local food movement, education to the youth, equity for folks who are disadvantaged in society and feeding hungry people (and SO MUCH MORE!!!). I am in awe of them!
My tiny contribution to this annual event is a drop in the bucket of the bigger picture they are painting to increase food security on St. Croix, one of our US Virgin Islands. AND the tools I am bringing to this years event will help impact years of kids cooking classes to come. Let's join in the giving and the LOVE! Please contribute in any way!
