<div>The Community Self Defense Coalition was born to defend and protect our workers from the threat of ICE/DHS and other predatory agencies destroying our working class communities. The rights of migrants have long been under attack, but the current administration aims to irritate what little rights migrants have been left. Re-envisioning safety for those that the state constantly attacks- like our black and brown workers who are forced to work in poor conditions, like our trans workers being denied basic human decency, like our working women who are too often exploited, harrassed and dismissed, like migrants facing repression and deportation when all they want to do is work for a better life, like students facing repression and deportation for speaking out against genocide - requires community to unite and fight against systemic oppression. Not only are we guarding our communities from abuse of power, we are tending to our communities through building connections, providing resources, and protecting each other.

<div>I'm Maggie, one of the members of the coalition. We will be using the money fundraised to continue to protect our community. That includes things like printing know your rights information, paying for trucks that lead our marches, buying magnets to make sure the community knows who we are while we are patrolling, paying for meeting spaces, and paying for materials to make sure we can protect our community which can include things like megaphones. I have connected this gofundme to a bank account controlled by the steering committee of the coalition.
