Support Colby, Harleigh, and Baby Ellie

Hi, my name is Laura and I am fundraising for my son Colby Willey, his girlfriend Harleigh Brewer, and their baby Eleanor (Ellie) Willey. Harleigh was admitted to the hospital at 30 weeks pregnant due to severe preeclampsia. They told her she would be staying until the baby is born. The goal was to monitor mama and baby and hopefully make it to 34 weeks. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. Harleigh’s blood pressures were extremely high, and medication wasn’t working. The best decision for mama and baby was to deliver. So, on Wednesday, Jan 15th, little baby Ellie was born at 31 weeks, weighing 2 lbs 15 oz. She will be in the NICU until at least her due date, March 15th, possibly longer. She is a little fighter though and is doing well. Mama is also doing very well. Colby and Harleigh are so in love and are amazing parents! They do have a long road ahead of them. Harleigh didn’t expect to be out of work 2 months early. Colby had just started a new job the day she went into the hospital and hasn’t been able to go back due to things changing minute to minute with mama and baby. Not to mention they are 2 hours from home. They have a long journey ahead of them, and the most important job they have right now is to be there in the NICU for their baby and help her grow. They got to hold Ellie for the first time yesterday, which was a blessing to see. They also got discharged from the hospital yesterday, which makes things a little more difficult not being able to stay in the hospital with their baby and being 2 hours from home. They need to stay close by in order to provide breast milk and skin-to-skin for the baby, which are both very important right now. This all happened so quickly and was definitely unexpected, and they weren’t quite prepared. So, I am fundraising in order to hopefully help them out on this long journey ahead with necessary and important costs: bills, food, travel, baby needs, their needs, etc., while they focus on helping Ellie grow to be a strong, healthy baby girl!
