Support Cody's Eagle Project for The Hanson Center

Story

Hello, My name is Cody Wilson and I am a Life Scout in Troop 80, located in Downers Grove. I am working towards my Eagle Rank. I chose the Ray Graham Hanson Center to be the recipient of my Eagle Project. The Hanson Center is a PATH certified therapeutic horseback riding barn. My Dad also completed his Eagle Project here and my late grandmother, who I sadly never got to meet, was associated with the Hanson Center through her work. Finally, my sister did speech therapy on horseback when younger to learn to speak. My project includes making two portable tack lockers, which will store riding gear for the horses and can be moved to a desired location. I will also be making two sensory boards to hang on the barn wall near the horse mounting ramp. One sensory board will allow nonverbal riders to identify their current feelings before they ride to help the aides better understand them. The other sensory board will be an activity board to keep riders entertained while waiting. I am raising funds to purchase all the wood and other things needed to build these items.
