Support Coach Marcus: Medical Fundraiser
Donation protected
When I first walked into Kentuckiana Parkour, I was struck by the energy that filled the gym. Young athletes bounced from wall to wall, leaped over obstacles, and tackled challenges with a determination that seemed to defy gravity. At the center of it all was Marcus Surelius, the owner/founder and coach whose passion and dedication made the gym more than just a place to train – it was a home for growth, resilience, and community.
Marcus is more than a coach. His dream of creating a space where kids and adults alike could challenge themselves physically and mentally became a reality through his tireless work and unwavering commitment. For my child and countless others, Kentuckiana Parkour has been transformative. Under Marcus’ guidance, they’ve not only become better athletes but also better people, learning values like perseverance, integrity, and respect.
In parkour, there’s a term called “spotting,” where one person assists another through a move or obstacle, ensuring their safety and success. Marcus faces a challenge of his own. As a small business owner, he has poured everything into the gym, often at the expense of his own needs. He is now in urgent need of surgery, and like many entrepreneurs, he is currently uninsured. The financial burden of the medical costs is immense, and it’s a weight no one should have to carry alone.
The parkour community has always been about more than just movement. It’s about overcoming obstacles together, celebrating each other’s victories, and offering a hand when someone needs help. Now, as members of this incredible community, we have an opportunity to embody those values by supporting Marcus in his time of need. This is our chance to give back to the man who has given so much to all of us and our kiddos. Marcus has dedicated his life to building not just strong athletes, but honorable, confident individuals. Now, we can rally around him to provide the support he needs to focus on his health without the added stress of financial strain.
Being a small business owner in 2024 is no easy feat. The challenges are numerous, and the sacrifices are significant. Marcus has faced these challenges with grace and determination, always putting the needs of his community and gym first. Now it’s our turn to step up and show him that he’s not alone.
Every dollar raised is a step toward easing Marcus’ burden. Whether it’s through donations, spreading the word, or simply sharing his story, we can come together as a community to make a difference. Marcus has always believed in us. Let’s show him that his belief was well-placed. If you wish to donate via cash or venmo please reach out to Marcus directly.
Together, we can help Marcus reclaim his health and continue building the incredible legacy of Kentuckiana Parkour.
