Welcome to Closer Communities.
We are a newly formed charity that came together during the Covid-19 lockdown.
Closer Communities offers support to parents/carers with children who have disabilities, additional needs or complex medical needs/long term health conditions. We give support for the whole family in whatever way we can. We run support groups for parents/carers, grandparents, siblings. We advocate for families in any way we can including support with parent/carer training and attendance at important meetings/assistance in completing paperwork. We help families that are struggling financially and families shielding or in isolation.
No matter what life has thrown at us over the past few months we have managed to make happy memories for the children and be there for each other. Our aim is to ensure that no-one feels isolated or that they have no-where to turn to.
We are fundraising to provide a base that children and families can access and find advice, guidance and support and also to support activities organised for our children and families.
We hope you will follow our journey and help us provide support to those that need it most.
