As many of you know, I am a student at The Episcopal Seminary of the Southwest in Austin, TX, where I am pursuing a Master's of Divinity degree. I have just completed the second year of a three-year program. One of the requirements by the seminary is to complete a course in Clinical Pastoral Education. This involves spending 11 weeks in a hospital setting visiting patients and being trained in giving pastoral care.

I have been accepted to a CPE program in Albuquerque, NM, in the Diocese of the Rio Grande, my home diocese. While my Bishop is working on arranging a housing situation that looks like it will incur a relatively small expense, being in ABQ for 11 weeks will still involve other expenses, including travel, that will go beyond the already tight budget.
