Our Clearwater Jr. Tornadoes football and cheer teams are gearing up for a brand-new season, and we’re looking to defend our championship titles!

Last spring, my 8U football team won the Spring Superbowl after a season full of hard work, late practices, and a whole lot of heart. These kids showed up four days a week, gave it their all, and earned every bit of that win.

The cheerleaders were just as impressive—including my daughters. They didn’t just cheer on the sidelines—they competed in separate cheer competitions and brought home trophies of their own. But cheer gear isn’t cheap—uniforms, hair products, travel costs—it adds up fast. And for lower-income families, the financial demands can make it hard to keep their kids involved.

This year, we’ve moved up to the 10U division, and I’ve moved up with them as coach. We’re ready to go all in again, but we need a little help to make sure every kid gets the chance to be part of it.

Right now, our coaching staff is banding together to raise funds for brand-new jerseys. Just the jerseys alone will cost $1,100—and that’s before we even get to equipment, tournament travel, or other essentials.

Our players and cheerleaders come from all walks of life. Some families are struggling just to cover the basics—let alone the extra costs that come with youth sports. A few of our kids have even lost a parent, and for them, this program is more than just a team. It’s a safe space. A second family. A place to grow, be mentored, and dream big.
