<div>Cindy (Cin) Castellanos, our little sister, was hit by a car on Addison and Lakeshore while walking home on November 6th, 2025. She was crossing a street we've walked over 15 years, when an SUV ran a red light, speeding, and changed Cin's life in an instant. Were it not for a heroic witness who pulled over, Cin would not be with us today.

<div>Cin, only 23 years old, is a recent grad from Columbia College Chicago who studied photojournalism. She was preparing to leave for her art residency with Lab Verde to start her career as a photographer in Brazil's Amazon Rainforest. She is the comedian and adventurer of the family. She has the biggest heart for animals and the environment. Cin has an unforgettable character and has advocated for authenticity and compassion her entire life. She's a daughter, friend, sister, cat mom, Lakeview local, and passionate vegan. Unfortunately, Cin's injuries are severe, and her life is now on pause.

<div>In addition to Cin's critical injuries which include Traumatic Brain Injury, a broken leg, broken nose, and fractures throughout her body, Cin was actively robbed of her favorite items as she lay dying the street. Her clothes ripped off of her by first responders, her glasses missing, and her phone shattered. A witness stated seeing someone walk off with her headphones moments after being hit by the car. We want to provide her those things without having to stress about financials. We are making sure she gets the best care in the city! We want Cin's only focus to be on her recovery journey and healing. Help us ensure her recovery goes smoothly and she has everything she needs!

<div>Our family is dealing with the trauma of the incident emotionally, mentally, financially- all while working with investigators and legal to deliver justice for Cin. The first week of her recovery we never left her side and barely slept. We want Cin to have the chance to go on the adventures she always dreamed of. Once she is recovered - which can take years- we want her to be able to continue her passions and travel without a worry. We come from a hard working low income family, and Cin did an amazing job at finding herself opportunities that would take her abroad. Help us ensure she can get there when she is recovered!
