Medical Journey & Urgent Surgery Needs
I was diagnosed with Popliteal Artery Entrapment Syndrome (PAES) after struggling with health issues that began in high school in 2005. This rare vascular condition has significantly impacted my life, particularly affecting my right leg.
My Medical History
- Initially diagnosed at age 18, I underwent my first femoral-popliteal bypass surgery to save my right leg
- I'm a medical professional working as an RN while managing this condition
- I'm also a parent caring for young children (12 and 5 years old)
- After my pregnancies, my bypass failed, creating urgent medical needs
Current Situation
- Recent scans have confirmed the return of PAES in my leg
- I require immediate surgery to prevent potential amputation
- My vascular system has been compromised, requiring specialized surgical intervention
- I've been referred to Cleveland Clinic for expert surgical care
- Blood thinners (Xarelto and aspirin) are currently helping maintain circulation
Financial Challenges
- I have no remaining PTO, sick leave, or short-term disability coverage
- I need to take approximately 4-8 weeks unpaid leave for surgery and recovery
- Medical travel expenses to Cleveland for specialized care
- Ongoing family needs during my recovery period
Your support would help cover medical expenses, travel costs, and family support during this critical time. Any contribution would make a meaningful difference as I fight to save my leg and return to caring for my patients and my family.
Thank you for your compassion and generosity during this challenging time.
I asked (Brad) Ciara's husband to write me a detailed list of what is going on currently in their lives. I have known Brad since the sixth grade and currently working side by side with him at Whitt Machine. So I have seen the impact and stress first hand. Brad is the type of person who holds in his emotions because he doesn't want to bombard you with his problems. So I want to help anyway I can because I see the impact first hand of what it's caused his family. He works very hard to try to provide but has to miss work time to time because he his family is his number one priority. He told me just last week on top of everything going on Ciara's work notified her that her contract will run out in three weeks. Sometimes life throws curve balls and families need help but don't want to ask. So I took it upon myself to try to reach out and get this family through these difficult times. Any domations can go a long way. Thank you so much!
