Update on my sister, Christine: her pneumonia has subsided, but she still has a chronic cough. During her stay at the hospital, the doctors performed an abdominal X-ray, which showed a shadow on her kidney. Once she was released and able to go home, she recently had an ultrasound, and currently waiting for results on her knees, as they are still in so much pain. The fall on the knee that she had surgery on in September worsened her condition. She has to use a walker 50% of the time due to chronic pain. Her blood pressure is still not what it should be, with very low monitor readings. The doctors are still unsure about such low readings. During her week-long stay in the hospital, they found several more conditions: heart, lung, abdomen, and kidney issues, as well as severe arthritis in her back and throughout her body and spine. 
 
That said, continued donations are greatly appreciated to assist with bills and food. Sadly, she is much less able to get around well, with limits on her leaving her home. My sister, as well as our family, are very thankful and blessed to have such kind people who have reached out to help her through this horrible medical situation. God bless you all!
 
My sister, Christine (Shelly), had left knee surgery in September and also needs the right one done, which is scheduled for January 20th. This past Friday, she made the trip from St. Robert, MO, to see Mom and passed out from a 104°F temperature, and had to be transported to the hospital in Lee's Summit. The hospital found pneumonia in her right lung that also affected the left side on Sunday. She is also having trouble with very low blood pressure that's been difficult to regulate. Now, they are going to check her heart for possible blockage, in addition to the numerous scans she's had done: CT, EKG, and now infectious disease physicians are being brought in. The doctors can't seem to find reasons for her fainting randomly. She is currently in St. Luke's East hospital in Lee's Summit. 
 
Aside from health problems, she is her sole support! She cleans houses for a living and has only been able to work a couple of days since her knee replacement at the beginning of September. She is not old enough for Social Security and has been denied Disability (we are retrying that one)! We are just trying to help her with medical bills, housing and car expenses so she can get through until the end of February! 
 
We, as a family, are trying, but this isn't a great time of the year for any of us. Anything anyone can possibly help with will be greatly appreciated! God bless you all!
