Our story is below, but first I want to put a HUGE thank you to the community for inspiring me so. This fundraiser will end June 30th. The goal is to spend July getting everything ready, and opening in August.
My name is Chris Chapman, and I'm a community leader for Warhammer and other miniature games. I was in charge of the Wichita Warhammer store for 2.5 years, and in that time, I learned a lot.
By promoting and growing the community by hundreds of new faces, I accidentally made a family (definitely not a cult) of dozens of individuals who would find comfort and a sanctuary by being at the store I ran. Under my leadership, the store became one of the most successful in the Midwest.
On May 15, 2025, this came to an end when Games Workshop (allegedly) wrongfully terminated my employment. In a burst of kindness, over 60 emails and 8 phone calls were made to GW to reconsider their decision or to express their displeasure and threat of taking business elsewhere.
The community was incredibly supportive, and I think about what they've meant to me and what the store meant to them. In that effort, I am raising money to create a community miniature-focused space filled with people of the same interests. I have seen so much positivity that I had the honor of helping to build. For that reason, I am creating a store and community space by the community, and for the community. The new store will feature Warhammer, Gunpla, and other minis. It will also include hobby supplies you normally have to drive across town to get.
The $20,000 includes startup costs, and one month of operating costs, and should, with the other support, give us over 3mos of costs covered so the business can grow. due to terms of service I had to remove membership details.
No raffles, sweepstakes, giveaways, or returns on investment are offered in exchange for any donations made to this GoFundMe.
The goal has been shifted down to account for the possibility of outside help. Thanks everyone so far! We can do it!
