Support Chris's Recovery After Bike Accident
Donation protected
Hello everyone,
On October 9th, 2024, my two nephews and their friends were outside riding bikes downtown to get some pizza. My oldest nephew, Chris, was a little behind his little brother and group of friends, and as he was catching up to them, his tires hit a dirt patch on the road. His bike kicked out from under him, and he lost control of the handlebars. As a result of the incident happening so quickly, the handlebars and brake lever were jackknifed into his pelvis area, making full penetration. An ambulance and LifeFlight helicopter were called in, and he was rushed to UMass Hospital where he got surgery. The handlebars were millimeters away from his bladder and causing any significant internal damage. He got very lucky.
He is now in recovery and doing well, but still has a long road ahead of him. He is a strong 14-year-old!
Unfortunately, in today's world, these bills are going to hit my family hard, and we are already doing what we can just to get by. Any help is greatly and truly appreciated. My family thanks everyone willing and able to help
