<div><strong>Chris Beyer, his Wife Jutta and Daughter Emily live in the Katahdin region in the Northern Maine Town of Mount Chase. Chris was diagnosed in September 2023 with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis, resulting in the need for a Double Lung Transplant.</strong> He was admitted to Mass General Hospital in Boston on May 1st for transplant evaluation by his medical team of doctors, and subsequently approved for the Lung Transplant. Chris has been placed on the national registry as a donor recipient and will remain at MGH until that occurs.

<div>Chris proudly served as a State of Maine Forest Ranger for 26 years until his retirement in 2022. He had full intentions to continue working and was employed since 2022 in various capacities. Chris worked as a Municipal Code Enforcement Officer, as a Customer Service Representative for Baxter State Park, and most recently as an Environmental Specialist for Maine's Land Use Planning Commission. The progression of the disease and his rapid decline forced Chris to stop all employment in November 2023.

<div>As many of you know, Chris loves the outdoors, being surrounded by woods, nature and mountains. He now faces the biggest Mountain Climb of his life as he battles this disease and pending lung transplant.

<div>As one can imagine, the costs associated with the transplant (medical, lodging, transportation, etc) are mounting.
