Hi! My name is Cheyenne Greiner and I am a 26-year-old disabled woman from Ohio! I have a very important surgery coming up that insurance will not cover. This surgery is to remove excess skin that causes nerve pain, tearing, and infection. This is step one of a full body lift after I lost over 300 pounds, and without it, I will continue to struggle with not only my own mental body image but also the infections and pain that come with this skin. I cannot lose this skin naturally, and I cannot lose this fat naturally as it is connected to the skin tissue. I have a seizure disorder, a 3rd degree heart block, SVT, and a neurological disorder that hinders my everyday life. On top of this excess skin, the 24/7 struggle with insurance is almost as bad as the disabilities themselves.
At 5 years old, my health took a turn for the worst. My heart hit 370 BPM and there were no answers until Akron Children’s Hospital and Dr. John Clark made me the first child to receive a Cryoablation. My surgery was streamed for hundreds, and families brought their children to receive this life-saving treatment because of the stream. After three cryoablations and one radioablation, however, my heart is weak. I have a pacemaker now even after this fight with a 3rd degree heart block.
I'm asking for help for the first time in my life because I need to be able to live a normal life. I want to be able to get dressed in clothes that are actually my size. I want to be able to live without worrying about my skin tearing or my muscle walls not being able to hold my organs together anymore. This surgery can help me do just that, but they won't even let me schedule it without this money.
If you give, know it's giving me a chance at a normal life where I can move and work again, and I thank you from the bottom of my damaged heart.
