<div>As some of you know, I've been working with a dachshund who is paralyzed in the rear due to IVDD (Intervertable Disc Disease).  Sadly Charlie was worse off than her owners knew, having no sensation in the rear as well as no bladder and very little bowel control.  Her rear legs were also dislocated at the hip, sticking straight out sideways as she scoots on the floor.  I bought hobbles to keep her legs together and she is able to push up with stiff legs.  While I do not think she will ever walk normally, there is some chance she could use her rear legs to some extent.  A well-fitted, light wheelchair could allow her to do this.

<div>I realize there are many cheaper wheelchairs on Amazon or other sites.  But it's very important she has one made to fit her with proper back support and one that is balanced to move easily.    And a strong one, as she is an active little dog and her wheelchair will prob. take a little abuse.

<div>Charlie is a very sweet and brave little dog.  She doesn't give up.  Her parents also have not given up on her and do all work needed to care for a paralyzed dog.  Sadly they are still paying for treatments vets suggested that did not work.  I also am committed to helping her get as good as she can be and will do rehab with the wheelchair when she gets one.
