Support Cedric Asiavugwa's Family

Donation protected
On March 10, 2019, Cedric Asiavugwa (Georgetown Law L’19/LLM’20) tragically passed away in the crash of Ethiopian Airlines flight ET302, which took 157 lives. He was 32 years old, and on his way home to Kenya for a last minute trip after the passing of his fiancée’s mother.

Cedric was a bright light to all those who were fortunate to come into contact with him. With his quiet brilliance, radiating smile, and enduring kindness and compassion, he tended to us all. Please join us in helping support his parents, brothers, fiancée, and 1-year old son. In losing Cedric, they have lost not only a deeply beloved family member, but also their pillar of support and primary breadwinner. All funds will go directly to Cedric’s family.

While we continue to heal from the profound loss that our communities and the world has sustained by his passing, may we uplift Cedric’s enduring legacy of always caring for refugees and the marginalized. Please read below for more information about Cedric’s remarkable life - from his position as Assistant Director of Advancement for St. Aloysius Gonzaga Secondary School, a free Jesuit high school for orphans with HIV/AIDS in Nairobi, to his directing of a television series on peace and reconciliation, and to his passionate advocacy on behalf of refugees worldwide.

For friends, colleagues, and strangers alike who would like to express how Cedric and his story have touched your lives, please share your thoughts with Cedric's family and community on his In Memoriam page, found here: https://www.law.georgetown.edu/news/in-memoriam-cedric-asiavugwa-l19/.
